Job Description
BASED IN CARDIFF – to cover the Cardiff & Bristol Offices. An excellent opportunity for a paralegal to join our Criminal Department and work alongside Partners and Assistant Solicitors on complex Crown Court criminal cases. Your duties will include all aspects of case preparation: drafting statements, obtaining and collating useful documents, legal research and writing letters. You may also need to clerk at trial from time to time. The role will be primarily based in the Cardiff office, although you will be required to attend the Bristol office on regular occasions. This is a full-time position: 9.00 – 5.00 Monday to Friday. Some additional evening work and travel outside Cardiff will be required from time to time.Skills and experience
The role will suit LPC/BVC graduates or part-time LPC/BVC students. Candidates should either be Police Station Accredited or willing to work towards the qualification. Six months, or more, prior experience of criminal paralegal work will be very advantageous. The right candidate will be hard working, flexible and able to cope with pressure and work effectively in a team. Confidence and good interpersonal skills are required, particularly as these roles may involve meeting with clients and counsel. Good IT and administrative skills are essential.Next steps
