Representation of a doctor facing fitness to practise allegations

2 September 2010

Our expert professional discipline solicitors represented an experienced doctor who faced allegations of impairment of fitness to practise on the grounds of misconduct brought by his regulatory body, the General Medical Council.

We represented our client at a hearing before the GMC’s Interim Orders Panel and successfully prevented the imposition of interim conditions or a suspension order, on the grounds that the order against our client was not necessary to protect the public interest. Such an order would either have restricted our client’s ability to work, or suspended him from practice altogether.
