What does the Service provide?
A Will for yourself and a spouse or partner at a discounted rate.
A simple standard Will is provided to you free of charge, with a mirrored version for your spouse or partner.
What if my wishes are more complicated?
We appreciate that most members have family circumstances and Will plans that require the preparation of a more comprehensive Will. When we receive your completed Will Questionnaire, we will consider what additional action may be required, and we will recommend what non-standard provisions should be included in your Will to personalise it to cover precisely your exact requirements.
In these circumstances we use the structure of the standard Will and then as a benefit of your Prospect membership we charge a discounted fixed fee for the elements which are tailored to your individual wishes. So if you have any additional requirements please do advise us, we always give you the opportunity to accept our fee before proceeding or to revert back to a simple standard Will.
What is the nature of the Service?
We are able to offer a postal and telephone service to Prospect members, which ensures the efficiency and speed with which we deal with your instructions. The Wills Department is supervised by an experienced in-house solicitor, who ensures that your interests are paramount.
I think my Estate falls over the Inheritance Tax threshold, is there anything you can do to assist me?
When you die the first £300,000 of assets which you leave is exempt from Inheritance Tax. Above that amount, Inheritance Tax is payable at a rate of 40%. We are able to assess the assets comprised within your estate in order to determine whether you are suitable for the more accessible tax-saving mechanisms that can be affected in your Wills. By using such schemes we can save you as much as £120,000 which would normally be taken as tax by the Inland Revenue. Any work we do for you would fall under the above discounted scheme through Prospect, which is significantly less than the average charges of a solicitor.
How do I go about writing my Will with Russell Jones and Walker?

Following receipt of your enquiry we will send a Will Information Pack to you, which contains a questionnaire for you to complete with your wishes. The questionnaire is easy to fill out and leads you through the process step-by-step.
After you have returned your questionnaire to us we will assess your instructions, determining whether you require a free simple standard Will, or whether you would benefit from something more complex.
Once we have prepared draft Wills which you are happy with we send a bound copy Will to you for signature and provide you with detailed instructions to ensure that you sign your Wills in accordance with the relevant legislation on validity of Wills.
