Expertise

In January 2001 Richard joined the Fraud and Regulatory Investigations department in the Manchester office of Russell Jones & Walker and is instructed primarily by the Police Federation to represent Police Officers accused of criminal and misconduct offences. He also represents officers at Coroners Court in relation to fatal road traffic accidents, fatal shootings and deaths in custody.

Career

After graduating from the University of Wales, Cardiff Law School in 1988 (LLB Hons.) and then completing the Law Society Finals Course at the College of Law in York in 1990, Richard spent 6 months working for a Broadway Theatre Agency in New York before returning to the UK to start a training contract with a high street criminal practice in Bolton. On completion of his training contract Richard specialised in the field of criminal defence work and became a partner at his old firm after 3 years.

Languages

Richard has an interest in foreign languages and speaks fluent French as well as Russian, Italian and has just begun to learn Welsh.
