Expertise
John is a senior solicitor in the London Employment Department.
John's practice encompasses all aspects of Employment Law both contentious and non-contentious.
Prior to joining RJW, he had for many years been involved in the movement of city executives and teams, particularly in the Financial Services sector, in both private practice and as in-house General Counsel.
At RJW, acting only for claimants, he employs his experience from the complex multi-million pound deals involved in such moves. In his in-house role, he also devised and rolled out global employment policies and procedures and provided training on implementation. This internal corporate experience he now turns to the advantage of individual City/senior executive claimants.
Experience
John's practice includes High Court litigation concerning the enforcement of restrictive covenants, interpretation of contractual terms, implied terms, penalty clauses and the assessment of damages. Employment Tribunals claims featuring complicated city whistle blowing claims and discrimination claims are also a regular feature of the work he undertakes. John also regularly advises directors and senior corporate officers on board room disputes and their service agreements and benefits.
Career
In 1988 John joined and became an equity partner and head of department in the City firm Gold Mann & Co (now part of US law firm Duane Morris), followed by eight years as General Counsel EMEA, Collins Stewart Tullett plc (the UK's top independent stockbroker) and Tullett Prebon plc (the world's second largest Inter-Dealer-Broker) covering amongst other matters employment issues in several different geographical and legal jurisdictions, before joining RJW in 2007.

John gained a Law Degree at Leicester Polytechnic and completed the Legal Practice Course at Chester College of Law.
