Expertise

Ian is a partner and head of the Fraud and Regulatory Investigations Department in the Bristol office.

Experience

Ian has acted in a number of high profile cases including the prosecution of a senior MOD officer for corruption, an Army Major prosecuted for causing death by dangerous driving, three members of the Cornish Stannary Parliament facing allegations of criminal damage and numerous investigations and prosecutions of Police Officers for very serious offences. In addition he continues to be a member of the Bristol Magistrates Court and Police Station Duty Solicitor Schemes.

He has also been instructed in several substantial fraud cases including the successful defence of a director prosecuted by the SFO for allegedly defrauding the Government.

Education

He graduated from University College Cardiff with an LLB and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. He joined Russell Jones & Walker in 1989 to establish the Criminal Department in Bristol and became a partner in 1995.
