Expertise

Adele works within the Media and Libel department specialising in Defamation, Reputation Management, Privacy/Breach of Confidence and Data Protection issues.

Experience

Adele has substantial experience in acting for Claimants in defamation and privacy/breach of confidence claims, and has successfully settled numerous claims against national newspapers and broadcasters.  She also has experience in acting for Defendants, for example representing a company and individual in defending an application for a defamation injunction regarding an internet publication. 

Her work has involved advising a wide variety of clients, including private individuals, sportsmen, celebrities, companies and publishers. With a great deal of contentious experience, Adele has gained an extensive knowledge of the litigation process and procedural rules.  In addition, having worked with in-house advocates at her former firm, Adele has also acquired experience in drafting statements of case, advices and skeleton arguments.

Adele also has experience of pre-publication and reputation management issues, having advised both potential Claimants and Defendants in relation to forthcoming publications and broadcasts.

Career

Adele joined Russell Jones & Walker in February 2008.  Before that, she worked at David Price Solicitors & Advocates for over 5 years, as a paralegal, trainee solicitor and post qualification in 2004.

Education

Adele graduated with an LLB degree in Law from the University of East Anglia in 1997.  She later attended the College of Law in London to complete her legal Practice Course, graduating with a distinction.

Interests and hobbies

Her interests away from the office include live music, various forms of dancing (Latin ballroom, salsa, lindyhop and more recently Egyptian belly dancing) and travel.
