Privacy and Breach of Confidence

We are all entitled to a basic level of privacy in both our private and professional lives, however there is no Privacy law on the statute books in the UK, although an individual can claim for breach of confidence for misuse of private information.

The introduction of the Human Rights Act in 2002 has breathed new life into this area allowing individuals to assert a right to privacy, just like their European counterparts.  This area of the law is constantly  being brought before the Courts who have to balance the competing rights of privacy and freedom of expression, which the media assert.

We can help if you feel your privacy has been breached.  Call us now on 0870 143 0970.
