Extradition and international investigations
There is much greater co-operation between countries in investigating allegations of corporate and individual crime, and greater freedom for the UK to prosecute such crime committed abroad.
The provisions of the Extradition Act 2003 and in particular The European Arrest Warrant have had a significant impact on the ability of British citizens to challenge extradition requests.
We have considerable experience of representing cleints who are under investigation in foreign jurisdictions, and we have developed good contacts with lawyers around the world. Recently we successfully represented the former Iranian Ambassador to Argentina in his defence of extradition proceedings.
