Expertise
Specialist in business and regulatory investigations, including professional discipline. Extensive experience in representing individuals facing fraud investigations undertaken by the SFO, FSA, RCPO, DTI, SOCA and HSE. Increasingly instructed to advise senior executives the subject of fraud allegations in arbitration proceedings and to represent senior officials in extradition proceedings. Currently involved in advising witnesses involved in two arbitration cases relating to procurement contracts each worth in excess of a billion pounds and representing a former diplomat facing extradition proceedings to the US. Also expertise in professional discipline and corruption cases including police disciplinary cases. Has lectured to professional and commercial organisations including the British Bankers Association.
Experience
He has considerable experience of representing business people who are the subject of extradition proceedings.
He recently wrote an article for the Commercial Litigation Journal entitled "Where Crime meets the Boardroom" and lectured at the British Bankers' Association on critical incidents procedures. He is due to give a presentation at the forthcoming White Collar Crime Conference together with speakers from Simmons & Simmons, Herbert Smith, DLA and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Tom has had many articles published in the legal press and he lectures regularly on matters including advising clients at the police station and disciplinary proceedings.
