Expertise
Rod Fletcher is Head of Business and Regulatory Investigations at Russell Jones & Walker and has been a partner since 1985.
Experience
Rod has over 20 years experience in all aspects of white collar/business crime including extradition proceedings, SFO, Customs and Excise, Inland Revenue, FSA and DTI investigations and prosecutions. He acted in the Maxwell, Barings and Butte Mining cases and he is currently acting in Customs and Excise investigations, money laundering prosecutions, and FSA and SFO investigations into investment fraud, price-fixing and international corruption.
He is also regularly instructed in disciplinary and regulatory cases and public inquiries. Examples include the Scott Inquiry, the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry, the Marchioness Inquiry and the Bloody Sunday Inquiry.
Rod represented a defendant charged with manslaughter and health and safety offences following the derailment of a train at Hatfield in 2000. His client was acquitted of all charges.
He is a regular speaker on various legal topics, and is a contributing Editor of the book Fraud: Law, Practice and procedure published by Lexis Nexis in December 2004.
He was appointed a Recorder of the Crown Court in 2003.
