Spinal injuries

The effects of a spinal cord injury can be devastating and are often life changing for the individual, family and friends who are affected by it.

The most serious forms of spinal injury can result in paralysis of the legs (paraplegia) or of the arms and legs (tetraplegia) and are often the consequence of a serious accident.

Bladder, bowel and sexual function can often be affected too. General mobility is usually severely hampered and a large number of people who suffer spinal cord injury become wheelchair users.

Often the sudden change in lifestyle is hard enough without the extra strain that is inevitably placed on your finances. Claiming compensation can enable you to gain the assistance and financial security required to live with a spinal injury, not only in the short term, but also to provide for your future needs and rehabilitation.

Russell Jones & Walker believe in a holistic approach to each case. We provide total support for our clients, particularly at times when they may feel at their most vulnerable. We approach each case with understanding and above all sympathy for your injury.

We can consider whether interim payments of compensation may be available to relieve financial pressures and cover immediate expenses and for the future we can offer advise on long-term financial planning.

Rehabilitation is vitally important in spinal injury cases and we believe our role does not end in court but extends to assisting our clients with the rehabilitation process by providing access to all the necessary support groups who can assist in adjusting to living with a spinal injury.
