Sofa injury compensation

01 November 2007

Russell Jones & Walker Solicitors are now acting for a significant number of people who have experienced skin allergies, rashes and burns after buying Pia and Bari sofas from the retailers Land of Leather, Walmsley’s Furnishing and Argos.

The sofas are manufactured by Linkwise. It is believed their condition is as a result of a reaction to possible chemicals applied to the surface of the sofas, resulting in painful blisters and sores, in some cases requiring medical attention and hospital treatment.

Argos has already formally written to its customers and has now withdrawn all of the Pia and Bari range sofas from sale, recalling all those that had previously been sold. Investigations are now underway to determine how the sofas came to be coated in alleged dangerous chemicals.

If you or a member of your family have purchased a Pia, Marco or Bari sofa and have suffered injury or discomfort, or have experienced problems when using these sofas when visiting a friend or relatives home, we are able to help and can be reached on 0800 884 0324 or via our email enquiries@rjw.co.uk.

Commenting, Christian Shotton at Russell Jones & Walker said:

"Many people have suffered severe reactions to the chemicals used in the production of these sofas, resulting in agonising sores and blisters. We are determined to ensure that consumers who have been affected by these chemicals are adequately compensated for the injury, harm and distress suffered."

You are advised not to delay in contacting our specialist lawyers as there are time limits for bringing a claim. Please contact our dedicated Team on 0800 884 0324 or via email: enquiries@rjw.co.uk, quoting Sofa Burns.
