Talks between the three case management standard issuing bodies have so far failed to unite the industry under one standard, said Jan Harrison, chairman of CMS UK’s standards and education committee, who added “but at least we have not had any standards imposed on us”.
Ms Harrison said, however, that despite the fact CMS UK, the Vocational Rehabilitation Association and the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers, continued to evolve separately, she was hopeful the three bodies could at least work together to agree common ethical practices.
Ms Harrison commented she believed that the embryonic Rehabilitation Council seemed happy with having three separate standards, although from a practitioner point of view, it meant that they have to pay three sets of membership fees to the different governing bodies.
