Robert Murat, a suspect in the case of missing girl Madeleine McCann, is due to formally settle libel claims he made against UK media organisations.
The property developer launched legal action in April against a number of media outlets, including the Daily Express, the Daily Star and the Scotsman.
Mr Murat initiated proceedings after a series of stories implicated him in the disappearance of the youngster, who went missing in May last year from a resort in the Algarve.
In May, he received an apology from the Scotsman for an article it ran on the subject.
It is thought that today (July 17th), the 34-year-old will receive a settlement of around £550,000 in a statement to be formally heard at the high court.
Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, also successfully sued the media for libel over accusations made about them in the British press.
