Parents may sue over alleged clinical negligence after toddler dies

Published 11/07/2008

The parents of a toddler who died soon after being given the all-clear by paramedics may sue, it has been revealed.

Emergency crews were called to the home of Lewis Urmson-Brown in Halton Beck - which is situated near the southern bank of the River Mersey near the Runcorn Gap - after he banged his head, Runcorn World reports.

The injuries he suffered were thought to be superficial by medics.

However, paramedics were called back in the night after the youngster's mother found him unconscious and foaming at the mouth.

Doctors could not save him and he later died at Warrington Hospital.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "As with all clinical incidents of a serious nature, the trust has launched a full investigation into this incident."

According to Runcorn World, his parents now intend to take legal action for alleged clinical negligence.
