A mother from Kent is applying for £300,000 in compensation following injuries sustained by her daughter four years ago, newsshopper.co.uk reports.
Dr Jill Barker is claiming damages as a result of the incident, which caused her daughter, Eve Barker, to suffer undisclosed injuries at the time of her birth in November 2003 at St Thomas' Hospital, London.
She had launched the compensation bid against Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital.
A writ issued at London's High Court states that the three and a half-year-old girl was injured as a result of negligent advice, management and treatment given to Dr Baker.
The trust, which is responsible for Guy's Hospital as well as St Thomas', became one of the first NHS foundation trusts in July 2004 and provides services for local communities, as well as specialist services for patients from further away, including cancer and cardiothoracic.
