An engineer who claims he was subjected to racist bullying is fighting for £8 million in compensation, it has been revealed.
Nardos Mulugeta, a Nigerian who lives in Fulham, has taken his case to an employment tribunal, the Daily Mail reports.
The 40-year-old alleges he was driven to attempt suicide twice after being abused by a colleague at Xerox - an international document management services provider.
He says the worker openly expressed racist views, said Mr Mulugeta was lucky to working at the firm and supported the British National Party.
The former employee also claims that bosses refused to let him attend a counselling appointment that had been set up by his GP.
A recent hearing was told that managers at Xerox ignored requests from the firm's own doctor, as well as Mr Mulugeta's GP, to transfer him to another site, despite the fact he had recently taken an overdose of medication.
He resigned last year and is now claiming £8,068,000 for constructive dismissal and race discrimination.
