A driving school has been taken to an employment tribunal by a former employee.
According to Mark Rowan, his boss at Pro Scot - a Fife-based firm that was established in 1996 and employs more than 20 driving instructors - targeted him because of his sexuality.
He alleges that his ex-boss John MacDonald described him as "one of the girls" on the business's website and warned him that "not many companies employ gays", the BBC reports.
A hearing in Edinburgh has been told that, when budget cuts were announced, Mr McDonald had the perfect opportunity to get rid of Mr Rowan.
Meanwhile, the firm denies the allegations and claims that he was sacked after arriving late to work on a series of occasions.
It also says that Mr Rowan was making too many mistakes and would have lost his job anyway.
The hearing is ongoing.
