An ex-lorry driver who nearly lost his life in a road crash is taking legal action.
Steve Jefford was in his cab on the A34 in 2005 when he was involved in a five-lorry accident.
As a result of the crash, the 49-year-old had to have a series of operations and, in the process, contracted hospital superbug MRSA, the Southern Daily Echo reports.
He was subsequently informed that he would have to have his left leg amputated below the knee.
Mr Jefford had to give up his 25-year driving career with TNT UK - a firm which specialises in the delivery of documents, parcels and freight.
He now works part-time in an office for the company.
The grandfather of three is in the midst of a legal battle for compensation of over £300,000 and his case is due to come before a high court judge later this year.
