A German doctor who came to the UK to work is taking legal action against a health trust, accusing it of racial discrimination.
Dr Annette Hoppe left her own practice in Frankfurt, Germany, to accept a position at Brierfield Health Centre in May last year, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
However, her contract was terminated six months later by bosses at the centre, which is run by East Lancashire Primary Care Trust - an organisation that serves a local population of 386,000.
She accuses one doctor at the practice of compiling a dossier on the perceived faults of German physicians.
The health trust, meanwhile, insists that Dr Hoppe was only given a six-month deal.
The GP stated: "If I had known I was only being given a six-month contract and not a three-year contract, I would not have made all the arrangements I did, like finding schools for my children and renting a three-bedroom house in Brierfield."
Taking place in Manchester, the employment tribunal is expected to last three days.
