A Bill ensuring faster compensation for mesothelioma sufferers yesterday [4 December 2007] passed through the House of Commons.
The Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill will establish a self-funding lump sum payment scheme for mesothelioma sufferers not covered by the Pneumoconiosis etc. (Workers’ Compensation) Act 1979 – allowing victims in England, Scotland and Wales to receive swifter settlements.
