City worker accuses firm of racial and sex discrimination

A City worker has accused her former employer of victimising her for complaining about alleged racial bias.
Christine Jones claims that she was driven out of Woori Investment - part of the Korean Woori Financial Group - and was treated "like a second-class citizen" during her ten-year stint with the firm.
She said: "Like other non-Koreans, I felt like a second-class employee due to my lesser pay and benefits.
"I did not feel valued by the company and felt excluded for not being Korean," the Daily Mail reports.
Ms Jones went on to say that complaints concerning the issue that she raised with the company were ignored by bosses and she felt like she was left with no alternative but to resign in September last year.
According to the Daily Mail, she is claiming £400,000 for racial and sex discrimination, as well as constructive dismissal and breaches of equal pay laws.
The bank denies all the allegations and the case is due to be heard later this year.
