A Scottish woman who developed asthma as a result of her work has been awarded compensation by her former employer.
Joyce Robson, who worked for Grampian Country Chickens, was told she would receive £24,890 during a recent hearing at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
The 58-year-old developed the condition - which is suffered by more than five million people in the UK - after coming into contact with formalin while working in the egg hatching department of a chicken factory.
She claims she now experiences breathlessness and chest pain, as well as chest infections.
In addition, Ms Robson states that her enjoyment of being with her grandchildren has been affected and she can no longer take them swimming.
Speaking after the hearing, she said: "My point was that I am going to be on an inhaler for the rest of my life and my condition will not improve the older I get," the Press and Journal reports.
