Scott Ingram specialises in criminal law, and is a Senior Principal Lawyer, within Criminal & Misconduct. He has been a partner at Russell Jones & Walker since 1989.

The directory describes Scott as "well-established and reliable, approachable and always responsive". The Legal 500 2011 have highly recommended Scott within Criminal & Misconduct, particularly his work with institutional clients and police shooting cases.

Scott has been involved in a number of high-profile cases. Scott represented the finance director in the SFO prosecution of the three main directors of Independent Insurance after the collapse of the company. He is an acknowledged specialist in police shooting cases and lectures on the legal issues in post shooting incident procedures. He represented the police firearms officers involved in the Stockwell shooting (the Jean Charles de Menezes case)

Scott specialises in police disciplinary proceedings and coroners’ inquests.  He has been involved in Judicial Review proceedings on the controversial issues of ‘conferring’ (the Mark Saunders case) and ‘anonymity’ (the Derek Bennett case).

Scott completed his articles at Wontner & Sons in 1983, and thereafter specialised in criminal law. He was a duty solicitor at Bow Street Magistrates Court and undertook prosecution work for Surrey Constabulary pre the Crown Prosecution Service. He joined RJW in 1986 since when he has specialised in defence work.

Scott passed his solicitors finals in 1981, qualifying in 1983.

Scott is a member of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association, the Criminal Law Solicitors Association and the International Bar Association
Scott is a member of the Serious Fraud Panel and is recognised as a specialist fraud lawyer by the Legal Services Commission.
