Experience Overview
Ivor Adair is a Solicitor in the London Employment Department.
Ivor has a wide practice encompassing all aspects of Employment Law.
He has represented claimants in large and complex discrimination claims, TUPE claims, whistleblowing claims, part time workers and fixed term employees claims and bonus disputes.
He has experience in personal injury law and advises Trade Unions, Staff Associations and their members on health and safety issues. He has particular experience in work stress and the overlap between personal injury claims and disability discrimination claims where there is a mental health element.
He is often instructed by senior executives in the public sector as well as the private sector. He has recently successfully negotiated significant settlements for claimants in cases involving age discrimination, sex, race and disability discrimination and work stress and has successfully mediated solutions to complicated claims relating to terms and conditions where he has acted for a group of claimants.
Ivor has also advised Trade Unions and Staff Associations and private individuals who are employee representatives on collective consultation issues.
He also has experience of Judicial Review applications, High Court Appeals against decisions of the Pension Ombudsman and in defending clients facing Professional Disciplinary proceedings. He also has advised Staff Associations on data protection and workplace privacy issues.
Ivor completed his professional exams at the College of Law, London. He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Human Rights Lawyers Association. Ivor trained at Russell Jones & Walker and qualified into the Employment Department in 2006.
