The website was developed based on the premise that everyone should have free and easy access to basic information about their legal rights. The aim of the website is to help promote understanding of consumers' rights, how to enforce them, and when to get help from an expert.
Information is available on the site on a variety of topics including employment issues, tenant and landlord disputes, family law, accidents and injury, citizen's and consumer rights, wills and property matters. Podcasts and factsheets are available to download.
Your Legal Rights forms a key part of RJW's response to the Government's challenge to make legal services more accessible to consumers. As time and cost are two key elements obstructing access to legal services for many people, Your Legal Rights offers legal documents to purchase from the website for a fixed fee, to be completed online and in the comfort of your own home. You can complete your Will online, download a contract for yourself and your builder and organise a short-term sub-let, for example.
