Bringing Employment Claims for Armed Forces Personnel

If you are a member of the Armed Forces and think you may have been discriminated against whilst in service RJW can help you.

Serving members of the Armed Forces are able to advance complaints in respect of certain discrimination claims.  However, special rules apply to members of the Armed Forces in respect of bringing such claims.

Before a member of the Armed Forces can bring a claim they must complete a Service Redress Complaint.  At RJW we can advise you in respect of how to raise a Service Redress Complaint and can also help you draft your compliant.

What claims can you bring?

Members of the Armed Forces can bring direct and indirect discrimination claims, harassment claims and victimisation claims in respect of the following areas of discrimination:

Race Discrimination
Sex Discrimination
Sexual Orientation Discrimination
Religion and Belief Discrimination

Unfortunately members of the Armed Forces cannot bring claims in respect of age discrimination or disability discrimination.

Think you may have a claim?

If you think you may have a claim and would like to discuss this you can complete our online discrimination enquiry form - EqualityXpress which will then be forwarded to a member of our Armed Forces claims team. Alternatively you can contact Jasmine van Loggerenberg or Ivor Adair of our specialist Armed Forces claims team who will be happy to discuss your claim with you.
