An Overview of our Executive Reps Service

We offer a unique service to our clients who are invited to attend disciplinary, dismissal or grievance hearings. By law, you are entitled to be accompanied by a trade union official or colleague (but not necessarily by your lawyer). The difficulty for many of our clients arises when they are unable to take a colleague as a companion, but they work in a non-unionised environment. In those circumstances, we can now provide a trade union representative companion to support them at what can be critically important, and often very difficult, hearings.

Representation at Grievance and Disciplinary Hearings

Your companion can not only take notes and provide psychological support at this critical time, but also make representations, ask questions and sum up the case, on your behalf.

This has long been recognised as an invaluable service for employees who are trade union members. However, you do not need to be a member of a trade union to take advantage of the statutory right to be accompanied.

Many workplaces are not unionised these days, and for many executives, seeking a work colleague to act as a companion is simply not an option. In non-unionised workplaces, and subject to availability, Russell Jones & Walker can now provide our clients with a trained trade union representative to accompany them to such meetings.
