Breach of contract and financial loss claim not pursued against client

Our client had agreed to move from one major software house to another. Prior to the move, the client made available to the new employer certain trade secrets belonging to the old employer. The old employer became aware of this and through its City lawyers threatened substantial litigation for damages, an injunction and costs against our client. Following negotiation with the former employer’s solicitors, we were able to convince them that as their client had not been able to demonstrate any financial loss, it had no claim. The claim against our client was not pursued.
