Woman suffered bullying and harassment at work

29 January 2010

Our client worked as a manager in cleaning services whose company was subcontracted to clean the offices household name company. During the course of her work our client was subjected to appalling racist remarks, including that our client did not deserve to work in the offices of the prestigious company where her job was based. When her three year old son contracted meningitis, our client was disciplined for going to hospital. After he died following a fatal error in administering his medication, our client found herself receiving a lower rate of pay and her holiday pay docked on returning to work.

Our client could not afford the expense of proceeding with her claim, so we offered to act on a CFA (conditional fee agreement basis), where the fees are payable only in the event that the case is successful. Through negotiation we secured an extremely favourable settlement for our client.
