RJW's client receives compensation after sustaining severe chemical burns to his legs

Our client, a steelworker, had suffered serious injuries after he fell into a pit of acid sustaining severe chemical burns to his legs. It was only due to the emergency surgery that his life was saved. Liability was admitted and a Health and Safety Executive prosecution led to the company being fined up to £125, 000 plus costs. Our client was left with permanent disfigurement to his legs and turned to Russell Jones and Walker for immediate help. After proceedings were commenced damages were agreed between £90, 000 - £100, 000 allowing our client to return to full time work.

The Claimant was a serving Police Officer cycling along the road when most regrettably, he was struck from behind by a HGV that was being driven by the Defendants’ employee along the same road and in the same direction as the Claimant.

Our client, Geoff, was cycling to work early one morning when a van driver collided with him. It was accepted that the driver was at fault but his insurers said he should have been wearing a cycle helmet. We obtained expert evidence to show that wearing a helmet would not have reduced the injury and he received a full award

Debby was only 17 when a drunk driver left the road and hit her as she walked back from the shops with her friends. Paralysed from the neck downwards, she was in hospital for 6 months.
