Hamama Yaffai was 6 years old when she was struck by a car as she was crossing a road near her home. She was with her older brother (aged 8) and her father. Neither her father nor brother were Injured but both suffered with shock, as did her mother who heard the collision from their house which was 50 metres away.

Our client, a steelworker, had suffered serious injuries after he fell into a pit of acid sustaining severe chemical burns to his legs. It was only due to the emergency surgery that his life was saved. Liability was admitted and a Health and Safety Executive prosecution led to the company being fined up to £125, 000 plus costs. Our client was left with permanent disfigurement to his legs and turned to Russell Jones and Walker for immediate help. After proceedings were commenced damages were agreed between £90, 000 - £100, 000 allowing our client to return to full time work.

Keith suffered his brain injury whilst the passenger in a car driven by a friend which crashed. He tried to continue his normal life with his wife but his changed personality meant that eventually he had to go and live in supported housing where he has learned how to cope with his disability.
