Employers fail to provide proper equipment resulting in night porter injury

Working as a night porter on the day of the accident, our client was required to set up a conference room. In order to do this he needed to move furniture from the store room. Furniture had been placed in the store room by members of staff during the day some of which had not been safely stacked or secured. On entering the room a piece of furniture fell onto our client and landed on his left toe – permanently deforming the nail.

As a builder was assisting a colleague with putting up some guttering the scaffolding that he was standing on moved because it had not be affixed correctly. Our client fell and suffered a back injury which resulted in him losing his job as he could maintain the commitments of manual labour at the construction firm.

Our client was injured when a wheel on the cage he was pushing fell off. The cage toppled over and trapped his arm against the wall.

A woman was asked by her employers to fill a bucket of hot water. She filled half the bucket with water and switched the tap off. As she went to lift the bucket it slipped out of her hands as there was no handle on it.
