Man wins constructive unfair dismissal claims

9 March 2010

A man has been successful in his claims of unfair constructive dismissal, it has been revealed.

Alan Langridge used to perform the role of senior officer at Croydon Council, the Croydon Advertiser reports.

He alleged that the way in which he was treated by bosses at the local authority - which employs around 10,500 members of staff and has a budget of over £900 a year - made him "very ill".

It is now thought that he has come to an agreement concerning the amount that he will receive in compensation from his former employer.

A spokesman for the authority said: "The council is unable to comment further on this matter as it has now been resolved and in reaching agreement both parties have agreed to be bound by a confidentiality clause."

The Croydon Advertiser suggests that Mr Langridge is in line for a settlement worth tens of thousands of pounds.
