Discipline in sport: Should the ref?s word always be final?

Jeremy Summers, partner in our Business Crime & Regulation department and disciplinary panellist for the Rugby Football Union, discusses the differences between discipline in football and rugby in The Times today.

This followed the recent premier league match where Manchester United player Wayne Rooney appeared to elbow Wigan athletic midfielder James McCarthy in the face, but didn’t receive the expected disciplinary proceedings following the game.
