What is the best way to apply for an advertised position?

What if there is no suitable vacancy advertised?

You can send through a speculative application to the recruitment team at the address above, which we will keep on hold for 6 months. However, we encourage you keep an eye on our website and as it may be beneficial to re-apply if a suitable vacancy becomes available.

What is your application process?

We know how keen you’ll be to find out what stage your application is at; therefore we aim to contact all successful applicants within a week of the vacancy closing date. This may take longer for the most popular roles such as paralegals and office assistants, and we may not be able to reply to all candidates. If you haven’t heard back from us after two weeks of the closing date, it is likely that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion. However, please feel free to apply again if another suitable vacancy becomes available.

Depending on the role, we have various post-application stages. These include; telephone interviews, first and second stage interviews, case-studies, and online testing. All stages will be fully explained in advance so that you are well informed of your application’s progress.

Do I need a full UK work permit to apply for a position?

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. You can apply for a position without a work permit, however you will need the right in to work in the UK if your application is successful and a job offer contemplated, in accordance with UK regulations. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor work permits so please make sure arrangements are in place to avoid any delay of your starting with the Firm if appointed.

During the application stage, you request data for equal opportunities monitoring. How will this information be used?

Do you offer work experience?

We aim to offer work experience throughout the year. However, as we cannot guarantee the availability of a supervisor, we are unable to offer a dedicated scheme. Please check our work experience page for full details of our opportunities.

Do you offer Training Contracts?

Recruitment for our 2012 intake has now closed. Details of our 2013 Training Contracts will be advertised in the Autumn.

I represent a Recruitment Agency. Do you use agencies to recruit for positions?

We work from a Preferred Suppliers List (PSL) for certain vacancies such as business support, management and solicitor roles. Recruitment for paralegals and office support staff is often in-house only. If you would like to be considered for our PSL, please keep an eye on our advertised vacancies and contact us if you feel you are able to assist with any of the roles.
